Communications Intern – Beijing

About the role

The International Council on Clean Transportation is looking for a creative, detail‑oriented Communications Intern to join its Beijing office. You will support a variety of communications activities for the China program while gaining exposure to transport decarbonisation research.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct background research, literature reviews and preliminary analysis on transport decarbonisation topics.
• Collect and perform basic analysis of communications data to inform content strategy.
• Draft, edit and translate communications materials in Chinese and English.
• Maintain and update ICCT’s Chinese website and assist with WeChat operations.
• Help plan and execute events and other communications‑related projects.
• Support translation of research reports and other documents.

Required profile

• Enrolled as a third‑year undergraduate or higher in transportation, environment, journalism, international relations, English or a related field.
• Available to work at least three days per week for a minimum of six months, with on‑site presence at least two days per week.
• Strong bilingual Chinese‑English translation ability and excellent Chinese writing skills.
• High curiosity, self‑motivation and ability to collaborate with a culturally diverse team.
• Passion for green transportation, environmental protection and climate change.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
• Experience with WeChat operations and website content management systems.
• Effective information‑retrieval techniques and familiarity with news and regulatory research tools.

What we offer

• Six‑month internship (potential extension to twelve months) based in Beijing.
• Monthly stipend of CNY 3,362 for a 96‑hour work month.
