Associate Publisher – Global Environmental Science

About the role

Join STM Journals’ Agriculture and Environment team to manage a portfolio of international journals in Global Environmental Science. You will help expand the network and market share in China while supporting the broader STM Journals strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Work with editors, authors, editorial boards and societies to ensure a steady flow of high‑quality manuscripts.
• Negotiate and manage contractual relationships with journal editors.
• Monitor day‑to‑day editorial, production and publishing operations, driving continuous improvement.
• Achieve portfolio targets such as content growth, new journal launches, article market share, citation share, editorial speed, fee budgets and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Stay informed on market developments, identify business opportunities and map market needs.
• Develop and execute a data‑driven portfolio strategy aligned with STM Journals objectives.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and proactive individual with a strong network in scientific publishing.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with editors, authors and societies.
• Analytical mindset to interpret market data and shape portfolio strategy.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
