Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Industrial Engineering)

About the role

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Industrial Engineering) will provide first‑line engineering support to ensure stable production and continuity at Philips’ Suzhou facility. You will lead process improvements, CAPEX projects and the deployment of new equipment while maintaining compliance with medical‑device regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line engineering support and initiate production escalations.
• Plan and execute CAPEX projects, equipment installation, qualification and improvement.
• Implement LCM design changes and ensure smooth rollout into manufacturing.
• Maintain master data integrity for routings, work instructions and process documentation.
• Identify and execute improvements in processes, tools and equipment to boost quality, productivity and cost performance.
• Lead factory layout planning, material flow optimisation, line balancing and capacity improvement initiatives.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate key factory improvement and transformation projects, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• Support smart‑factory, digitisation and automation projects using data analytics and digital tools.
• Define, execute and control validation activities for manufacturing process changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.
• More than 8 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, preferably in medical‑device, high‑mix low‑volume environments.
• Proven experience in process optimisation, factory layout planning, capacity improvement or operational‑excellence projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, MDR, cGMP and MDSAP regulatory requirements.
