Advance Process Engineer

About the role

3M is seeking an Advance Process Engineer to lead new product introductions and drive process improvements in its Shanghai manufacturing facility. The role focuses on safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction while supporting the transition from development to full-scale production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities, including BOM setup, SOP/WI creation, unit cost studies and routine maintenance.
• Develop and execute programs to qualify new products, continuously improve processes and enhance capability.
• Conduct FMEA, MSA and DOE studies to optimize process parameters and define robust process windows.
• Measure and improve Ppk for critical process variables and implement cost‑reduction projects.
• Provide daily support to production, train personnel on procedures, and resolve equipment issues through PM/TPM initiatives.
• Lead capital investment projects and support business growth through equipment alterations and upgrades.

Required profile

• Strong safety knowledge with a commitment to maintaining a safe manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in process engineering, NPI and continuous improvement within an industrial setting.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams, train production staff and communicate technical information effectively.
