Supply Chain Specialist II – Procurement

About the role

The Supply Chain Specialist II will identify, research, and evaluate suppliers to ensure they meet the organization’s standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability. They will also manage purchasing activities, negotiate terms, and monitor supplier performance to support the company’s operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Recognize and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices.
• Assess supplier products to ensure they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards.
• Analyze and evaluate supplier bids, tenders, proposals, or quotations to determine best value.
• Negotiate prices and delivery conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
• Commit to purchases within established authority limits, ensuring terms align with the organization’s best interest.
• Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, purchase requisitions, and orders to coordinate purchasing activities with current and anticipated demand.
• Monitor the quality and timeliness of supplied materials and goods, addressing any issues promptly.
• Follow up on the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate order status and updates with internal customers to keep stakeholders informed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) as a minimum educational requirement.
• At least three years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles.
