Staff Nurse, Outpatient

About the role

The Outpatient Staff Nurse provides direct, holistic, and customer‑service oriented care to patients visiting Parkway’s outpatient facilities. The role involves independent clinical decision‑making, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate individualized patient care, including assessment, prioritisation and documentation.
• Identify acutely ill patients, perform appropriate triage and promptly report findings to physicians.
• Coordinate patient education on recovery, rehabilitation and follow‑up visits, and track investigation results.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Assist physicians with translation during consultations, treatments and examinations.
• Implement infection‑control procedures, check emergency equipment regularly, and keep clinical areas clean and safe.
• Collaborate with reception, nursing, housekeeping and other departments to optimise patient flow and reduce waiting times.
• Support inventory management for medication, supplies and equipment, and supervise junior staff and new hires.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing college/university in the People’s Republic of China.
• Valid Shanghai nursing licence.
• Minimum three years of post‑graduation nursing experience (overseas experience preferred).
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, renewed bi‑annually.

Required skills

• Registered nursing licence in Shanghai.
• Ability to document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
