Senior/Advanced Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Philips is seeking a Senior/Advanced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of MRI RF receive coils and patient tables. You will work with global experts in the Netherlands and China on multi‑platform MRI product development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end mechanical design of MRI RF receive coils and patient tables, from concept through post‑market maintenance.
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments, design discussions and provide solutions with cross‑functional teams.
• Deliver detailed designs, specifications, BOMs, DFMEA, and manage design reviews, verification and validation during PDLM execution.
• Troubleshoot and perform root‑cause analysis for customer or production issues, ensuring quality, safety and reliability.
• Partner with technical leadership to align deliverables with program goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in 3D CAD software and GD&T.
• Mechanical design of plastic and sheet‑metal parts, tooling and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, risk management and design for reliability, manufacturability and cost.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Familiarity with FEA simulation (preferred).
