Senior Tax Specialist

About the role

As a member of the tax team in Shanghai, you will independently manage tax accounting and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with Group policies and local regulations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate tax records, supporting audits, and liaising with tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file VAT, CIT, SD, RET, LUT, EPT and other tax returns; ensure timely tax payments and export VAT refunds.
• Perform monthly tax account closing, reconcile variances, and resolve issues.
• Execute annual CIT filing and related party transaction disclosures.
• Calculate effective tax rates, conduct reconciliations, and produce related reports.
• Manage withholding tax calculations, declarations, and record filings for overseas non‑trade payments.
• Apply for tax preferences such as refunds and VAT exemptions.
• Serve as the primary contact with local tax bureaus, prepare required documentation, and respond to inquiries.
• Support tax authority investigations, audits, and maintain good relationships with governmental bodies.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the team leader.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of solid experience in Chinese tax accounting/compliance.
• Experience in multinational corporations is preferred.
• Strong communication skills in written English and Mandarin.
• High sense of responsibility and ownership.

Required skills

• SAP experience (highly preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
