Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

Kerry is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead tax compliance and reporting for its China entities. You will work closely with finance, commercial, supply‑chain and shared services teams to ensure tax efficiency and regulatory compliance across a global food, beverage and pharmaceutical business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax provision schedules, returns, payments and maintain the company’s tax database.
• Accurately file monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns for China entities, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value‑Added Tax (VAT), withholding taxes and other local surcharges.
• Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work and resolve complex tax issues or filing errors.
• Liaise with tax authorities on business activities, assess and manage tax risks, and recommend practical compliance solutions.
• Support tax audits, inspections and information requests, preparing documentation to minimise exposure.
• Assist with transfer‑pricing compliance, related‑party disclosures, benchmarking and coordination with external advisors.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to evaluate tax implications of new initiatives and implement tax‑efficient operating models.
• Drive continuous improvement of tax processes through automation, data analytics and ERP system utilisation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with tax law changes and industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field; ACCA or CPA qualification preferred.
• 3‑5 years of relevant tax experience in a Big 4 firm or multinational corporation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of PRC tax laws and regulations; international tax exposure is an advantage.
• Experience in manufacturing, food ingredients or FMCG sectors is desirable.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of Chinese corporate income tax, VAT and withholding tax rules.
• Familiarity with ERP tax modules and data‑analytics tools for tax reporting.
• Ability to prepare transfer‑pricing documentation and support benchmarking analyses.
