Senior Software Engineer, iOS, Monetization

About the role

Duolingo's Monetization Pillar focuses on subscriptions, ads and in-app purchases, aiming to build premium experiences for learners while supporting the business model. As a senior iOS engineer, you will help shape the direction of these efforts and work cross-functionally with product, design, data science, machine learning and ad operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on software projects with product, design and backend aspects
• Develop, release and maintain native iOS applications, primarily in Swift
• Mentor and set technical direction for junior engineers across the company

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Solid foundation in computer science with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and software design
• Programming experience in Swift

Required skills

• Strong Swift proficiency and experience building production-level iOS apps with Cocoa Touch and related frameworks
• Experience designing clean, maintainable APIs
• Experience with multithreaded programming
• Experience writing unit tests and testable code
• Knowledge of iOS SDK performance tools and optimization techniques

The salary range is 804,949 to 1,088,971 CNY, depending on experience, skills and internal comparisons; base pay is supplemented by equity. The company also offers benefits covering employee well-being.
