Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

Join Siemens Energy’s Transformation of Industry business in China as a Senior Legal Counsel. You will act as the trusted legal and compliance advisor to senior leaders, helping them navigate complex commercial, operational and regulatory matters while supporting sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary legal and compliance support for the Transformation of Industry China unit, covering strategic, commercial, operational, corporate and regulatory issues.
• Lead the review, negotiation and approval of customer contracts, supplier agreements, settlement agreements and strategic cooperation arrangements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and compliance risks, ensuring business decisions align with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Collaborate with compliance, finance, procurement, sales, project management, HR, EHS and tax teams to deliver practical, business‑focused solutions.
• Manage disputes, claims, investigations, regulatory inquiries and external counsel, while promoting a culture of integrity through training and awareness.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in China with strong knowledge of international commercial law.
• More than 10 years of post‑qualification experience in a multinational corporation, leading law firm or similarly complex environment.
• Proven experience supporting commercial contracts, project businesses, manufacturing or industrial operations, dispute resolution, compliance and corporate governance.
• Understanding of anti‑corruption, antitrust, data privacy, export control, sanctions and third‑party risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, drafting and presentation skills in both Chinese and English.
