Senior Director, Account Sales

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is seeking a Senior Director, Account Sales to lead its China business. The role is responsible for full P&L ownership, driving market strategy, and building strategic relationships with AR, consumer electronics and technology brands.

Key responsibilities

• Own full China P&L performance, including revenue growth and margin management.
• Develop and execute China market strategy aligned with global objectives, identifying high‑value growth opportunities in AR and advanced optics.
• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with leading AR, consumer electronics and technology brands, leading engagements from evaluation through mass production.
• Negotiate complex commercial agreements and development partnerships, positioning the company as a strategic solution partner.
• Strengthen partnerships across the AR value chain, promoting integrated optical solutions and establishing the technology as a preferred architecture for premium AR products in China.
• Build and lead a high‑performance local team across sales, technical applications and program management, fostering technical‑commercial collaboration and acting as a bridge between China customers and global R&D.

Required profile

• 15+ years of leadership experience in optics, AR/VR, semiconductor or related high‑tech industries.
• Proven experience managing P&L and scaling technology‑driven businesses.
• Strong executive presence with ability to engage CTO/CEO‑level stakeholders.
• Experience in complex B2B technology sales and design‑in environments; system‑level hardware integration experience is a strong plus.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
