Senior Designer – Shanghai

About the role

UNStudio is seeking a Senior Designer to join its Shanghai studio. The role combines project management and design leadership for both local and international architectural projects, working within a multidisciplinary, non‑hierarchical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design development from concept through construction documentation.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure design quality across commercial, residential and cultural typologies.
• Identify risks, resolve conflicts and maintain project momentum.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience at a top‑tier international design firm.
• Proven track record on competitions and built projects.
• Strong conceptual, communication and coordination abilities.
• Excellent aesthetic sensibility and ability to translate ideas into detailed documentation.
• Fluent in English; Cantonese and Mandarin are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Rhinoceros.
• Advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of Revit (preferred).
