Senior Buyer – Direct Purchasing (Li‑ion Battery, e‑mobility)

About the role

As a Senior Buyer you will drive the growth of Bosch's Li‑ion battery and e‑mobility business in both domestic and overseas markets. You will be responsible for sourcing, cost optimisation and supplier relationship management to ensure competitive and reliable supply.

Key responsibilities

• Scout, evaluate and analyse potential suppliers and market trends for e‑mobility solutions.
• Conduct RFQ, COQ and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive price‑per‑component (PPC) levels.
• Manage projects on the supplier side, bridging Bosch requirements and monitoring key supplier activities.
• Initiate and plan technical and business discussions between Bosch and suppliers.
• Calculate, evaluate and negotiate Li‑ion battery costs.
• Prepare and execute annual price negotiations to meet target objectives.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business‑unit goals.
• Mentor suppliers on commercial, quality and delivery performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master/Diploma in Engineering, Chemistry or related fields (preferred) or Business Administration/Supply Chain.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the Li‑ion battery industry, BMS or e‑mobility (or 3 years with an engineering/chemical background); automotive or aftermarket multinational experience preferred.
• At least 5 years of project‑management experience, including one successful international project.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents such as drawings, specifications and engineering changes.
• Strong knowledge of cost analysis, data‑driven decision making and cost‑saving implementation.
• General finance understanding and excellent cross‑functional communication.
• Proven supplier‑management and mentorship experience, capable of leading suppliers independently.
• Fluent in both Chinese and English, written and spoken.
• Pro‑active, self‑leading and willing to take on challenging tasks.
