Senior Android Engineer (Games & Buyer Ecosystem)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join Whatnot’s Games & Buyer Ecosystem team. Based in China, you will help build the next generation of live‑commerce experiences for our US and European users, creating engaging, gamified features that drive purchases and user interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end gamified mechanisms such as promotions, task achievement systems and virtual point rewards.
• Build interactive challenges and reward systems that guide users and encourage ongoing engagement.
• Develop new Android app features using Kotlin, ensuring fluid and responsive user interfaces.
• Continuously monitor performance metrics and user feedback to refine product strategies and improve the user experience.

Required profile

• 4+ years of native Android development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven track record of delivering user‑facing features quickly and reliably.
• Strong product instincts with a focus on user experience over pure technical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Bonus: experience building e‑commerce products or full‑stack development.
