Senior Accountant - Financial Accounting & Regulatory Reporting

About the role

Munich Re Beijing Branch is looking for a Senior Accountant to lead the execution of financial accounting, reporting and closing activities. The role ensures compliance with Group policies, IFRS, China GAAP and local regulatory requirements while supporting the finance function across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage quarterly and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timely reconciliation and adherence to deadlines.
• Prepare statutory financial statements in line with Group accounting policies, IFRS, China GAAP and Chinese tax and regulatory rules.
• Conduct plausibility analyses for quarterly statements to guarantee data integrity and completeness.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of regulatory and internal reports.
• Support internal and external audits, including statutory audits, agreed‑upon procedures and regulatory inspections.
• Serve as a central point for finance‑related data requests, liaising with Group and Regional Finance, actuarial teams and business units.
• Participate in finance projects, process improvements and system or reporting enhancements.
• Provide ongoing general accounting support and handle ad‑hoc assignments as needed.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA (China) preferred.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience, ideally within insurance or reinsurance.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, China GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
