Sales Team Lead – Outbound SME & Growth

About the role

Airwallex is a global fintech platform that enables businesses to manage payments, spend, and treasury at scale. The Sales Team Lead will head the outbound Business Development team focused on growing cross‑border payment solutions for fast‑moving enterprises across e‑commerce, gaming, SaaS, logistics, OTA, AI, cloud and education sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the BD team to acquire new customers in the growth‑enterprise market across multiple verticals.
• Shape and execute sales strategy, including market analysis, product standardisation, pricing, promotion packaging and go‑to‑market plans.
• Set sales targets, break them down into actionable plans, optimise processes and tools, and own activation, revenue and transaction volume outcomes.
• Monitor individual and team performance, adjust tactics based on data and market shifts, and coach under‑performing members through training and joint visits.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, strategy, account management and service teams to drive cross‑functional initiatives that support business growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; fluent in both English and Chinese (reading, writing, speaking).
• Minimum 3 years of proven team‑leadership experience, with a track record of building successful sales teams.
• Experience in cross‑border payments, e‑commerce, ERP, website building or related international‑trade domains.
• Strong self‑motivation, execution discipline and ownership of both process and results.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, able to influence key decision‑makers and stakeholders.
