Sales Director China – F&B

About the role

A European multinational in the food and beverage industry is expanding in China and needs a Sales Director China based in Shanghai. The role supports the company's growth and development in China, driving its strategy and supporting an execution team of 1 key account manager and 3 sales managers. It reports to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop all types of B2B commercial operations through direct key accounts and wholesaler distributors
• Gain market share with existing clients and manage long-term growth plans (for example with Starbucks)
• Drive aggressive food service development across all channels, acquiring new clients such as international and Chinese hotels, restaurants, QSRs, coffee shops, bakery chains, catering, premium supermarkets and CVS
• Liaise with NPD, production, central marketing and international key accounts
• Develop tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 strategies
• Build digital sales tools and B2B e-tail
• Recruit, train, manage and motivate sales teams
• Design and implement the sales methodology
• Lead competitive reviews and gather consumer and client insights

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in business, international commerce, logistics or a related discipline
• Around 15 years of commercial experience, mainly in B2B food service
• Knowledge of the bakery channel and a personal network with key decision makers
• Cross-functional knowledge of supply chain, R&D, HR and finance
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
• Fluent English to communicate with C-level executives
