Project Purchasing Engineer (eLION)

About the role

The Project Purchasing Engineer (eLION) will support Bosch’s motor and sub‑component supply chain in China, analysing market potential, managing supplier relationships and driving cost‑effective solutions for medium‑complexity projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse Chinese market potentials for motors, sub‑components and supply‑chain alignment with eLION requirements.
• Evaluate and promote identified potentials to the project team.
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships, leading technical discussions and SQP activities.
• Analyse manufacturing costs, conduct benchmarking and gain deep understanding of related manufacturing processes.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for medium‑complexity programs, ensuring effective cross‑functional collaboration.
• Identify, quantify and manage risks and opportunities, applying mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project objectives clearly with stakeholders and suppliers across functions such as PUR, PUQ, PUE‑Brk, DE Team and plant operations.

Required profile

• Solid background in project management or related fields with a proven record of successful project delivery.
• Self‑motivated and able to work without daily on‑site functional leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel within China and overseas as needed.
• Proven purchasing experience for PMSM parts and sub‑assemblies in China, leveraging local price levels through effective supplier negotiations.
