Program Manager - Chiller Products

About the role

JCI is looking for a Program Manager to run global new product development programs for the Chiller Product Business Unit through its stage-gate development process. The role is based at the JCI engineering and manufacturing site in Wuxi, China, and calls for independent leadership of programs with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional, globally distributed teams through JCI's stage-gate development process.
• Initiate, plan and execute programs that meet targets for budget, quality, performance and time to market.
• Drive scope discovery and decomposition, then build detailed execution and resource plans.
• Manage and optimise collaboration between core, extended and support team members, contractors and consultants.
• Coach, mentor and motivate team members, and create progress reports, presentations and status updates via dashboards, management reviews and team meetings.
• Proactively resolve risks and issues, escalate material concerns with impact and recommendations, and manage dependencies and the critical path.
• Maintain integrated schedules, resource plans, risk registers and recovery plans, and drive gate readiness.
• Collaborate with other program managers, functional managers and executive leadership, and share best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in project/program management and/or leading technical teams in a functional management role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional product development programs independently.
• Experience managing integrated schedules, assigning tasks, running meetings, managing risks and building resource plans.
• Experience overseeing onsite and remote teams across functions and regions, and leading global cross-functional teams across regions and cultures.
• Ability to travel 10% or less domestically or internationally.
• Familiarity with stage-gate development.

Required skills

• Project management planning tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Microsoft Office 365 suite.
• Preferred: 3+ years leading projects through stage-gate product development, HVAC industry knowledge, PMP certification, and platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Daptiv, Planview, Smartsheet or Wrike.
