Procurement Specialist

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process for its large‑scale industrial plants. You will act as the main liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring that purchase orders are created, tracked, and delivered on time while upholding the company’s safety and integrity values.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions from plants and create/release purchase orders in SAP according to SOPs.
• Send technical drawings or requirements to suppliers when needed.
• Track order acknowledgements, manage open orders, and coordinate with suppliers to achieve on‑time delivery.
• Handle PO rescheduling, monitor shortage risks, and escalate issues to stakeholders.
• Process PO change requests from both plants and suppliers, ensuring clear communication.
• Maintain supporting documents in SAP and provide timely feedback to stakeholders.
• Resolve exceptions such as NCRs, goods receipt issues, and invoice discrepancies, ensuring timely payments.
• Prepare reports within agreed timelines and meet assigned KPIs.
• Train junior buyers on operational skills and best practices.
• Drive performance improvement for under‑performing suppliers and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Logistics, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience in large‑scale industrial manufacturing.
• Fluent English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) – CET‑4 or above.
• Proficient in SAP or Oracle ERP systems.
• Strong communication skills with a customer‑service mindset.
• Detail‑oriented and patient.
