Principal Senior Auditor – Regulatory Audit China

About the role

As a Principal Senior Auditor within Swiss Re's Regulatory Audit China team, you will lead high‑impact audits for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions China, ensuring independent assurance for the Board and meeting local regulatory obligations. The role offers exposure to senior‑level risk culture initiatives and the chance to influence audit strategy across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end local regulatory audits, guaranteeing timely, high‑quality outcomes.
• Identify control weaknesses and process gaps, and propose commercially sound remediation recommendations.
• Apply GIA audit methodology consistently and coach junior auditors to uphold internal standards.
• Manage compliance with Chinese insurance regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Report regularly to the local Audit Committee and Board of Directors as the Audit Responsible Person.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships, communicating complex findings clearly while maintaining independence.
• Contribute to risk assessments, shaping audit scope and priorities for Swiss Re’s China operations.
• Utilise data‑driven auditing techniques, including data analytics and emerging AI use cases, to test controls and enhance audit effectiveness.
• Participate in broader GIA initiatives, bringing innovative perspectives to projects.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in regulatory and internal audit, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of structuring complex issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering concise reports.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to negotiate effective solutions with senior stakeholders.
