About the role
As a Power Semiconductor R&D Engineer you will lead the development and technical support of SiC chips, discretes and power modules for non‑automotive applications such as solid‑state transformers, AI data centers, energy storage systems and eVTOL platforms. You will work closely with global R&D teams and local partners to adapt existing products and create new solutions for the Chinese industrial market.
Key responsibilities
- Develop deep technical understanding of Bosch SiC products and identify advantages and gaps for target applications.
- Interpret specific technical requirements for SST and AIDC, propose design modifications, and coordinate with global R&D.
- Lead local development and modification of SiC devices and modules to meet industrial, SST and AIDC demands.
- Analyse future industrial trends, define design change directions, and plan a local technical roadmap.
- Conduct testing and benchmarking of industrial SiC devices, summarising strengths and weaknesses.
- Support design‑in and design‑win activities with customers and partners.
- Drive joint‑development projects with partners to deliver new SiC products.
Required profile
- Master’s or PhD in physics, semiconductor technology, microsystems technology or a related field.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate cross‑functional topics.
- Proven experience in design and testing of power semiconductor chips, discretes and modules.
- Knowledge of SST, AI data center, ESS and eVTOL applications and their SiC requirements.
- Understanding of semiconductor physics, characterization and manufacturing processes.
- Business‑fluent in Chinese and English.
