Performance Marketing Specialist – China

About the role

Marshall Group is expanding its China Marketing team and seeks a Performance Marketing Specialist to lead paid‑media planning and execution across key Chinese digital platforms. Based in Shanghai, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to drive data‑focused growth for the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run full‑funnel performance campaigns on WeChat, RED, Weibo, Tmall/JD and other major Chinese channels.
• Manage media budgets, audience segmentation, bidding strategies, A/B testing and optimisation to meet KPIs such as CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS and sales contribution.
• Oversee the performance media agency, ensuring accurate reporting, tracking set‑up and continuous optimisation.
• Partner with creative, social, e‑commerce and sales teams to produce high‑performing ad creatives and conversion‑focused assets.
• Support product launches, seasonal campaigns and major shopping festivals (e.g., 618, Double 11).
• Identify growth opportunities through consumer insights, platform trends and competitive analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or a related field.
• 2–5 years of performance marketing experience in China, preferably with consumer electronics, fashion, lifestyle or premium DTC brands.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Douyin, RED, Tmall/JD and other major Chinese paid‑media platforms.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and optimise campaigns for ROI.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) and working proficiency in Mandarin.
