Operations Technician - Operator

About the role

The Operations Technician is responsible for safe and efficient handling of hazardous chemicals and bulk raw materials in a production environment. This role ensures continuous plant operation, compliance with safety standards, and supports the production of Phase II zinc salt chemicals.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload hazardous chemical tankers (e.g., concentrated sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, alcohols).
• Heat bulk raw material, perform ISO weighing, and guide bulk material vehicles.
• Complete and deliver stocking sheets on schedule.
• Operate valves and pumps in the tank farm and conduct various sampling activities (tanker truck, drum, storage tank).
• Perform measurement work, inventory checks, and powder addition (phosphorus pentasulfide, zinc oxide).
• Run furnaces and boilers, maintaining required certification.
• Supervise vendors, prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs), and stand by for DCS operation.
• Execute start‑up and shut‑down procedures for on‑site operations.
• Carry out daily checks, inspections, troubleshooting, and incident reporting.
• Train new employees on site and assess their competency.

Required profile

• Valid certification for furnace and boiler operation.
• Experience handling hazardous chemicals and bulk materials.
• Ability to train and assess new staff.
• Strong attention to safety and procedural compliance.
