About the role

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) invites applications for tenure‑track and tenured faculty positions at all ranks in FinTech, Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance, Operations Research, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics and Data Science. The appointments will be based in the Financial Technology Thrust of the Society Hub, a trans‑disciplinary environment that encourages collaboration across cutting‑edge research areas and industry partnerships.

Required profile

• PhD degree in FinTech or a closely related discipline such as computational mathematics, computer science, economics, finance, financial engineering, information systems, machine learning, mathematical finance, operations research, optimization, probability, or statistics.
• Demonstrated research excellence in cutting‑edge FinTech topics and a strong publication record in reputable journals.

Required skills

• Expertise in blockchain technologies, smart contracts and digital currencies.
• Experience with robo‑advising, quantitative investing and risk management methodologies.
• Proficiency in machine learning, artificial intelligence and big‑data analytics applied to finance.
• Knowledge of technological innovations for financial services and regulatory challenges in FinTech.
• Understanding of digital‑economy concepts and financial inclusion strategies.
