Mechanical Design Engineer – Electric Compressor (Shanghai)

About the role

Bosch is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of electric compressor components in Shanghai. You will work on the eCOM platform, shaping innovative solutions that improve mobility and energy efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct design review, release and change management for 3D/2D models, BOMs and technical documents.
• Define and optimise metal‑structure concepts according to target specifications.
• Verify design robustness and fulfil tasks set by the lead design engineer.
• Create technical definitions and designs for test samples, fixtures and benches.
• Resolve problems throughout the design development phase.
• Issue technical requirements to suppliers and manage PPAP approvals.
• Support the lead design engineer in maintaining product design guidelines.
• Assist V&V engineers in building validation plans and TCD specifications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet eCOM platform development targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Thermal Technology.
• More than 5 years of experience designing aluminium die‑casting components.
• Deep knowledge of aluminium die‑casting manufacturing processes.
• Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work in an international, technically demanding environment.
• Motivated with strong ownership and problem‑solving attitude.
