Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, packaging and unpackaging materials, and supporting inventory stocking and retrieval. This position provides essential service to both internal and external customers while maintaining safety and accuracy in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Unload incoming shipments, verify bill of lading and packing lists, and unpack materials.
• Engage with purchasing and other departments to resolve packing list discrepancies.
• Conduct inspections, identify damaged goods, and record material receipts in the ERP system within 24 hours.
• Verify outbound shipments, properly package them, and ensure all documentation is filed and archived.
• Follow all warehouse processes, maintain good housekeeping, and adhere to Flowserve safety requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to stand for long periods, walk extensively, kneel, twist, bend, and lift up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb).
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and willingness to learn and cross‑train across functions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to speak the "language of logistics".

Required skills

• Forklift operation – certified forklift operator.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for material receipt and inventory tracking.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Prior material handling experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
