Manufacturing Engineer – Semiconductor (Shenzhen)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes for fabricating semiconductor parts and assemblies in Shenzhen. You will collaborate with engineering teams to release product improvements, estimate costs, and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain fabrication methods, operation sequences, and processes for parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Apply DFx principles to reduce costs and improve product quality.
• Develop and use test procedures, assist with test specification definition, and coordinate test fixture activities.
• Gather operational and test data, evaluate results and drive corrective/continuous‑improvement actions.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and failure analysis reporting for assembly or test issues.
• Conduct Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis for new repair development.

Required profile

• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge in manufacturing engineering and a broadening capability across disciplines.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to apply them to work tasks.
• Ability to provide informal guidance to new team members.
• Problem‑solving skills for straightforward situations using technical experience and judgment.
