Logistics Operations Specialist – Xi'an

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Logistics Operations Specialist in Xi'an to manage customs declaration processes, import/export activities, and bonded zone operations. The role supports the efficient movement of goods while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Handle routing customs declaration operations, including import, export, and bonded transfers.
• Manage customs operations inside bonded zones, such as bonded processing and repair.
• Generate and report internal metrics/KPIs, monitor exceptions, and ensure adherence to business processes.
• Develop and implement process improvement projects to enhance service levels and reduce costs.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards and produce weekly status reports on in‑house process controls.
• Review inventory control reports, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and review import/export documentation (customs declarations, SLI, SED, IC, etc.) ensuring accuracy of invoices and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain logistic information databases and ensure data accuracy per corporate policies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in customs and import/export operations.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of best practices in logistics and ability to integrate with related functions.
• Effective communication with external government authorities and ability to lead small projects.
