Lab Technician - HVAC

About the role

The Lab Technician – HVAC will support CSA Group’s certification laboratory by performing testing, analysis, and technical guidance for HVAC‑related products. Working under general direction, you will ensure that product certifications are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑job analysis to Certifiers to expedite laboratory assignments.
• Schedule and process work orders for a wide variety of product certifications.
• Conduct testing and analysis of HVAC devices, ensuring compliance with CSA requirements.
• Review and validate results produced by junior staff.
• Select appropriate tests and oversee their execution in the lab or at client facilities.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, explaining certification procedures and results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure accurate test documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in a technical laboratory environment, preferably with HVAC systems.
• Ability to analyze complex devices and interpret standards.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and schedules.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and internal guidance.
