Knowledge Analyst - Social, Healthcare and Public Entities

About the role

Join the global Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice in Shanghai, supporting clients across the healthcare value chain. You will act as a thought partner, applying industry knowledge to commercial strategy, R&D, and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct industry analyses, monitor market developments and translate insights into actionable recommendations for consultants and clients.
• Develop innovative analytical tools, solutions and products using proprietary data sources and McKinsey analytical modules.
• Synthesize findings into McKinsey‑formatted deliverables such as written memos, numerical analyses and presentations.
• Collaborate with the global Healthcare Intelligence team to support consulting engagements across providers, payers and life‑science companies.
• Directly serve clients in areas of expertise, ensuring high‑impact, data‑driven advice.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, life sciences, health economics or public health.
• At least 1 year of experience in life sciences, healthcare, insurance, pharma or med‑tech.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and quantitative abilities with a curiosity‑driven mindset.
• Professional attitude, service orientation and ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑cultural environment.
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Data visualization and analytics experience.
• Familiarity with Alteryx (plus).
• Familiarity with Tableau (plus).
