Key Account Manager – Battery Materials

About the role

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead relationships with major battery customers. The role focuses on driving adoption and commercialization of Cabot’s battery materials, working closely with marketing, product management, and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a sales territory, selling battery materials and achieving revenue, volume, margin, and payment targets.
• Develop forecasts, sales plans, and strategies to meet business objectives.
• Build a deep understanding of each customer’s profitability and position Cabot’s differentiated solutions.
• Negotiate complex sales contracts and educate customers on new products and enhancements.
• Identify new market opportunities, gather competitive intelligence, and maintain accurate budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Lead initiatives to improve sales excellence, distributor management, and customer service.
• Support the Responsible Care® Management System and ensure compliance with RC14001® specifications where applicable.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in Salesforce.com, including negotiation documents and strategic plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in key account management within the battery or specialty chemicals sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Leadership capability to influence cross‑functional teams.
