IT Engineer – Smartfactory Operations

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented IT Engineer to join our Smartfactory Operations team in Changshu, China. You will play a key part in implementing, maintaining and supporting cutting‑edge manufacturing IT solutions that drive our digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and support Smartfactory solutions including Manufacturing Execution Systems (SAP DM), Manufacturing Service Bus, IoT Edge technology, machine data acquisition and recipe management.
• Provide second‑level support for Manufacturing IT applications and act as a consultant for central and local key users.
• Monitor system health, coordinate upgrades, patches and regional roll‑outs of Smartfactory solutions.
• Lead infrastructure coordination, issue resolution and the implementation of IT best practices in project, portfolio and service management.
• Collaborate with internal competence centers and manage external service providers to ensure optimal worldwide service delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of IT engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and Industry 4.0 concepts.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
• Business‑fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel internationally (10‑20 % of the time).
