Innovation Instructor – Design Thinking & Innovation Lab

About the role

The Innovation Instructor will join the School of Entrepreneurship and Management as a core member of a teaching team. You will co‑teach courses such as Design Thinking and Innovation Lab, helping students develop critical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and an innovative design mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discussion sessions in a thought‑provoking manner.
• Design project goals, evaluation criteria, and update course materials and lecture plans.
• Mentor students on group projects, monitor progress, and provide individual guidance.
• Build and maintain a network of industry experts from high‑tech start‑ups, IP law, data science, design, and venture capital to deliver workshops, talks, and practicums.
• Support professors in delivering course sessions and manage all logistics, including classroom setup, prototype room maintenance, communications, and recruitment/training of teaching assistants and part‑time instructors.
• Participate in broader innovation curriculum, design programs that foster creativity, and support extracurricular initiatives that nurture entrepreneurship.
• Fulfill additional duties as requested by the Dean.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in any field from a reputable institution.
• Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English.
• Two to five years of successful college‑level teaching or executive education experience.
• Proven ability to coach groups and mentor individuals.
