Human Resources Manager – Retail (Shanghai)

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will act as a trusted advisor and partner to people managers and employees within the Coach China Retail Team. Based in Shanghai, the role supports the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition to employee relations, ensuring HR strategies align with rapid store expansion and business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with retail, finance and HR leadership to forecast headcount, identify capability gaps and mitigate people‑related risks for new store openings.
• Own end‑to‑end people enablement for new stores, including organization set‑up, role mapping, onboarding governance and manager coaching.
• Drive day‑to‑day employee experience covering onboarding, promotions, relocations, exits and execution of cyclical HR programs such as engagement surveys.
• Manage talent processes including talent reviews, succession planning, HiPo actions and development initiatives to build a strong leadership pipeline.
• Provide employee‑relations guidance, conduct investigations and partner with the ER team on escalated issues.
• Monitor HR metrics, ensure compliance with global policies and local labor regulations, and collaborate with finance on budget and headcount planning.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Proven coaching ability and experience managing cross‑functional projects.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR metrics and trends.
• Experience in change management and organizational development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; HR certification preferred.
