Head of MSAT Technology Transfer

About the role

Roche is looking for a Head of MSAT Technology Transfer to lead end‑to‑end technology transfer and operational readiness at its new greenfield biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Shanghai. The role combines strategic project leadership with hands‑on oversight of process design, qualification and start‑up in a cGMP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technology transfer projects, introduce Production Process Management (PPM) and ensure compliance for manufacturing readiness.
• Oversee all operations linked to tech transfer, including process design, troubleshooting and adherence to cGMP and Roche quality policies.
• Drive technical innovation by evaluating and implementing advanced technologies to improve process control, automation and product quality.
• Provide strategic leadership to a high‑performing team, applying VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) behaviours.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering and global Roche networks to align processes, achieve production readiness and support start‑up activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in greenfield engineering projects and routine biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
• Strong background in cGMP environments and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high‑performing technical teams.
• Excellent collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders, including global partners.
