Global Installation Engineer – Semi (FY27Q1) – Etch – New Graduate

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while receiving guidance from senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Completion of an associate degree, military technical training, field‑service experience or a trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Preferred: 1–2 years of customer/field‑service experience, associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies, knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.

Required skills

• Digital analytics tools for equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic diagnostic techniques for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Use of hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems and thermodynamics.
