Global Installation Engineer – Display CVD/PVD

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Installation Engineer to install, maintain, and upgrade display CVD/PVD equipment for semiconductor and advanced display customers in China. The role involves on‑site work, extensive travel, and collaboration with senior field service engineers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Apply diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with senior field service engineers and customers to understand roadmaps and process requirements.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 4‑7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics.
• Strong knowledge of hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
