Global Installation Engineer – Display CVD/PVD

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Installation Engineer to install, maintain, and upgrade display CVD/PVD equipment for semiconductor and advanced‑display customers. The role involves extensive travel across China and close collaboration with senior field service engineers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment in the field.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and resolve technical issues, with support from senior engineers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to understand roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges.
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers on service activities.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 4–7 years of experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
• Ability to meet on‑site safety, environmental, and COVID‑19 requirements.
