General Accounting Specialist – Finance Shared Services

About the role

Join the Finance Shared Service Center at HARMAN Lifestyle as a General Accounting Specialist. You will own end‑to‑end General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate period‑end closings, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and compliant financial reporting in a standardized shared‑service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing tasks, including accruals, provisions, allocations, reclassifications, intercompany reconciliations and foreign‑currency revaluation.
• Prepare, review and post GL journal entries in line with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Perform balance‑sheet account reconciliations, analyze variances and resolve open items promptly.
• Manage the full lifecycle of fixed‑asset accounting, ensuring alignment between book and physical assets.
• Handle intercompany settlements, cash application and related reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, audit schedules and management reports.
• Assist internal and external audits, tax reviews and compliance checks.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives, system upgrades and SOP updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on GL/R2R experience in a shared‑service or multinational finance environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset and ability to work under pressure during closing periods.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP accounting modules.
• Advanced Excel skills, including functions, pivot tables and data analysis.
