About the role
The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in China is seeking a motivated Front Office Intern to support its daily administrative and coordination functions. This six‑month, full‑time, unpaid internship offers a unique opportunity to observe how the UN system operates at the country level and to contribute to the coherence of UN activities in China.
Key responsibilities
- Provide coordination and administrative assistance at the Front Office.
- Finalize, format, and route official correspondences for approval.
- Offer simple translation and interpretation services when needed.
- Support chronological filing, archive management, and maintenance of contact databases.
- Undertake ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the Executive Associate.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a first‑degree programme (minimum master’s level).
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese; knowledge of French is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
