Finance Operations Manager – Shanghai

About the role

PwC’s Advisory Acceleration Centre is expanding its Finance Operations offering within the Finance Solutions practice. The Finance Operations Manager will support client engagements by improving finance processes, driving automation, and delivering analytics across end‑to‑end finance value streams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and redesign finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, A2R) to create standardized future‑state procedures, policies, SOPs, and control matrices.
• Accelerate record‑to‑report cycles through close calendar standardisation, journal rationalisation, automated reconciliations and balance‑sheet substantiation using tools such as BlackLine, Trintech, Oracle FCCS/ARCS, SAP and Workday.
• Develop driver‑based and predictive forecasting models for revenue, cost, working capital and cash using statistical and machine‑learning techniques in Excel, Alteryx, Python and planning platforms (Anaplan, Oracle EPM, SAP Analytics Cloud, Workday Adaptive Planning).
• Rationalise reporting inventories, define KPI libraries and build self‑service dashboards on Power BI, Tableau, Oracle FDI/OTBI, SAP Analytics Cloud and Workday Prism, ensuring data validation and ERP reporting support.
• Identify automation opportunities across the finance function and apply RPA, low‑code workflow and process‑mining tools (Celonis, Signavio) to realise and track benefits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance process assessment and improvement across multiple finance value streams.
• Hands‑on experience with finance automation platforms and ERP systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with US‑based project teams and deliver client‑focused solutions.
