Field Service Engineer 3 - Bioprocessing Systems

About the role

Repligen is looking for a Field Service Engineer 3 based in Shanghai. The engineer installs, maintains and services Repligen systems (ATF, TFF, chromatography and analytical systems) across China and occasionally other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, providing remote and on-site support and troubleshooting technical issues with the local sales team and product managers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide service support, including repair and preventive maintenance, and document all service activities at customer sites
• Work in line with company SOPs and Repligen's quality system, and complete product and SOP training regularly
• Perform installation, training, SAT, IOQ and IQOQ on equipment, software and accessories, and report issues, orders and parts needed
• Support remote FAT in the USA or Europe, and help schedule on-site service visits
• Solve mechanical, electrical and software issues, including OS bugs and reinstallation of software or hardware
• Create leads, discuss business opportunities, and work with the service sales team on Service Level Agreements and service sales
• Provide phone support on hardware, software and spare parts, and share technical resolution information with colleagues
• Determine preventive maintenance procedures, parts kits and schedules, and review service manuals for accuracy
• Control travel costs and expenses, and complete administrative tasks such as Salesforce entries and service reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics, Electro-mechanics, Automation or a related discipline
• At least 8 years' experience repairing, maintaining and installing equipment in scientific instruments, laboratories, bioprocess or biotechnology settings, ideally with filtration equipment
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and GDP, and understanding of GAMP and US FDA 21 CFR Part 11
• Driving licence and international passport with ability to travel within APAC and the EU/USA
• Able to work flexible hours, long hours in a cleanroom, and to travel extensively within Asia and globally
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 kg

Required skills

• Experience with CSV (computer system validation)
• Understanding of automation architecture, IO lists, electrical schematics, SDS, HDS and FDS documents
• Software and automation tools: Siemens S7, WinCC, Wonderware / Intouch, SQL, Historian, Emerson DeltaV, Allen Bradley RSLogix, Dreamreports, iFix
• Experience with Salesforce Lightning is a plus
