Family Medicine Physician

About the role

The position involves providing comprehensive family medicine services in both outpatient and optional inpatient settings. The physician will collaborate closely with the Department Chairperson and contribute to departmental goals and quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases and injuries within the scope of Family Medicine.
• Prepare and review case histories, order and interpret X‑ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests.
• Conduct ward rounds (optional) and prescribe appropriate therapy, including antibiotics and compresses.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and determine the need for specialized medical care.
• Serve on at least one hospital/clinic committee and participate in quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an approved medical school.
• Completion of a Family Medicine residency program acceptable to the Department Chairperson and Chief Medical Officer.
• Minimum 3‑5 years post‑residency clinical experience preferred.
• Fluency in English (required); Mandarin (preferred); German or French a plus.

Required skills

• Interpretation of clinical laboratory results.
• Interpretation of X‑ray examinations.
• Prescription of medication and therapeutic regimens.
• Performance of minor surgical procedures.
