Faculty Positions – Intelligent Transportation (INTR)

About the role

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) invites applications for tenure‑track faculty positions within the Information Hub’s Thrust of Intelligent Transportation (INTR). Successful candidates will join a rapidly growing community focused on integrating transportation systems with 5G/6G communications, artificial intelligence and data science to improve mobility efficiency, safety and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in transportation‑related subjects.
• Lead interdisciplinary research projects that combine AI, communications, and transportation engineering.
• Secure external research funding and manage research laboratories.
• Contribute to curriculum design and academic service within the university.
• Collaborate with faculty across HKUST campuses and industry partners.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., transportation engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, data science).
• For senior candidates: strong record of publications, teaching excellence and research leadership.
• For junior candidates: demonstrated research potential and commitment to high‑quality teaching.
• Fluency in English for instruction and administration.
