Engineering Standardization Team Section Manager

About the role

ABB is looking for a Section Manager for its Engineering Standardization Team in Beijing. The role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and is an onsite position. It covers technical management, BOM optimization, project delivery and team performance improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team to cooperate with TC, manage overall technical documents and review drawings and specifications.
• Take charge of new product BOM creation and review, and continuously optimize BOMs and expand product functions according to market and engineering needs.
• Manage standardization of electrical and mechanical design, unify design specifications and improve design consistency.
• Lead the compilation, revision, implementation and iteration of standardization and process documents.
• Organize technical problem analysis, rectification and closed-loop management, coordinate production issues and provide technical support.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, high-quality project delivery.
• Manage the electrical and mechanical engineer team, set up a training mechanism and improve design quality and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10 years of product management or engineering experience in switchgear.
• Good command of power system knowledge and MV switchgear manufacturing processes, standards and applications.
• Ability to communicate in English, written and spoken.
• Strong communication skills, highly responsible and self-motivated, willing to take on additional tasks.
• Strong learning ability, pragmatic approach and a positive attitude under pressure.
