DevOps Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

Remote People is looking for an intermediate DevOps Engineer to join a fast‑growing, remote‑first team that supports SaaS platforms for global payroll and compliance. You will work across engineering squads in Asia and Europe, ensuring the platform stays reliable, observable, and easy to ship to.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain availability, reliability, and security of the SaaS platform across all environments.
• Design, build, and optimise CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, safe, self‑service releases for engineering squads.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement and improve observability tooling (metrics, logs, traces) so teams can understand system behaviour.
• Monitor capacity and performance, forecasting resource needs proactively.
• Investigate production incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive preventive actions.
• Support squads in integrating their services smoothly within the shared platform.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate automation scripting while validating generated output.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer.
• Strong grasp of DevOps principles such as CI/CD, IaC, and configuration management.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK).
• Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash or Go.
• Effective communication in a remote, asynchronous environment.
