Design Engineer – Aftermarket Brake Pad Development

About the role

Bosch Group is seeking a Design Engineer to support the development of aftermarket brake pads. You will work on technical evaluation, reverse engineering, and product validation to ensure new components meet market and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support technical evaluation for aftermarket brake pad development, identify OE samples, and define new components.
• Lead reverse‑engineering of brake pads, release BOMs and drawings, and manage supplier quotations.
• Conduct tolerance calculations, define key dimensions, and organise design reviews for approval.
• Provide mass‑production and customer technical support, including feasibility checks and risk assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement of product design and initiate engineering changes.
• Communicate technical requirements with suppliers and ensure compliance with regulations such as GB5763 and ECE R90.

Required profile

• Background in mechanical design, vehicle engineering or related fields.
• Proficiency in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, UG, CATIA, ProE).
• Ability to calculate tolerances and experience with sheet‑metal stamping.
• Fluent English for basic communication.
• Familiarity with EPDM and SAP is a plus.
• Experience in the brake‑pad industry or brake‑system development is preferred.
