Demi Chef de Partie - Chinese (Cantonese BBQ)

About the role

The Demi Chef de Partie will support the kitchen supervisor in delivering high‑quality Chinese cuisine, focusing on Cantonese BBQ and related specialties, while ensuring compliance with Shanghai Disney Resort’s food and beverage standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional, personalized service to guests and promptly report any unresolved issues.
• Organise and set up the designated kitchen section to maximise speed and productivity.
• Prepare all dishes in strict accordance with approved recipes, ensuring flavour and presentation meet Disney standards.
• Monitor food and operating costs, reducing waste wherever possible.
• Maintain hygiene standards and ensure the kitchen area complies with health and safety regulations.
• Keep kitchen equipment in good condition and minimise breakage.
• Ensure all team members are familiar with the Employee Handbook and operational guidelines.
• Assist in any kitchen area as directed by the Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef and adhere to all fire, hygiene, health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or 3‑4 years as a Cook 1 in a high‑end hotel or restaurant, preferably with luxury international brand experience.
• Specialised knowledge of a Chinese cuisine area such as Cantonese BBQ, cold dishes, wok, steamer, dim sum or chopper.
• Culinary qualification or related certification is an advantage.
• Comprehensive understanding of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
• Fluent Mandarin communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Full availability for any shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.
